Songs I Currently Have On Repeat

Hubbs has a deployment coming up. Soon. Too soon. Obviously I knew marrying him was going to entail this. I just happen to be an avoider. I love to avoid. Unless I'm really backed into a corner I'll give it hell, and if not, I will avoid it. But I cannot avoid this.

Since he is just as hot-blooded as I am I have no doubt he wouldn't kick ass and take names. So when I see him off I will kiss him, straighten his collar and tell him to Give em' hell. (Side note: when I say Give em' hell, my hell sounds like heel. I'm a born and bred Connecticut girl but my family is from Jawjah as my Poppy would say it. Occasionally (often) I'll have a southern accent, and my husband likes to make fun of me for it. Always.

So back to my post! I've always loved songs pertaining to soldiers and families and since most of them are country, I like em' even more. These are songs I already have on my ipod just waiting for me to crumble a teeny bit and listen to them.

1. Never Say Goodbye by Michael Wayne
This is my favorite song ever. Try not to cry while listening to it. I dare you.

Never Say Goodbye

2. Come Home Soon by SHeDAISY

3. Come Home by Findlay Brown

I realize there's only 3 songs, it was depressing me.

Things I Always Have...

I found this from the adorable JGIWC's blog. Since I am convinced I was Jewish in a past life she speaks to me.

Things I always have...

...in my freezer: frozen pizza, ice pops, captain morgan.

...in my fridge: corona (hubbs doesn't like it), leftovers and bottled water.

...on my desk: (I'm switching this to our kitchen island) our laptops, tissues, his ACUs left there randomly

...on my coffee table: xbox controllers, more tissues, blue solo cups and bottles of red pepper left there from pizza

...on my nightstand: kate spade style book, aloe gel, cell, camera, (doggie) shitbags haha

...on my vanity table: hemp lotion, ralph lauren wild, aviators, dirty sandy rope bracelets

...on my bathroom hooks: pink and blue towels (how typical colors)

...on my dresser: a fan, stars and stripes newspaper

...on my bed: dog hair and 5 pillows :)

Hellooooo summer :)

So I'm thinkin the menu for tonight's supper is ganna be sweet tea and fried chicken. (Half of my family is from Georgia, I was born into it ;)) I make a mean batch of fried chicken if I do say so myself. Ooh this is my turkey from the other night =)

I sent this photo to her and she said it looked like Kermit and Stewie from Family Guy haha.

So hubbs is on leave for 2 weeks! I actually get to see him everyday for 24/7 haha. And it's about 80 degrees which feels like like 90 and sunny :) It's been wonderful.

Piper has gained 7 or 8 lbs since we got her on the 12th! And now she's teething which is obnoxious to say the least.

Day 7 Blogging Challenge

5 Things You Could Not Live Without

I would say my husband, dog, friends and family but that goes without saying :)

1. My Laptop.
It's my source to America lol. I rely on Hulu to watch Glee and Modern Family. Not to mention I might die without Skype. Especially with an upcoming deployment.
2. My makeup.
I, like every other girl in this world has crappy self essteam. It sucks but it's life. I highly depend on mascara, chapstick and powder. If only my 15 yr old makeup caked self could see me now.

3. My North Face
Ah yes, my wonderful NF fleece. If I were back in CT I would be one of thousands to be wearing the same black fleece. But I am not. I am in Germany. On an Army post. And since most of the girls are from down South or out West, the only NF that I have seen in 3 months has been mine. And it's wonderful :)
4. My Sperrys and Lobster flipflops
This is also something I'm the only one to be seen in! It's very exciting!

5. Coconut Lime Verbena from B&BW and Ralph Lauren's WILD Perfume
These are my go-to scents. I LOVE B&BW's hand sanitizer collection!

Day 6 Blogging Challenge

A moment you wish you could relive

Hmm, I think I'm going to go with our summer camping/resort place Papoose Pond in Maine. I've gone there since I was 5 every single summer and this will be the first year. I'm sad to say the least. Actually I'm getting really sad thinking about not going... And my puppy has to pee... I'm cutting this blog post short...

Day 5 Blogging Challenge

A Favorite Quote

Hands down my all-time absolute favorite quote is from Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium:

Mr. Edward Magorium: [to Molly, about dying] When King Lear dies in Act V, do you know what Shakespeare has written? He's written "He dies." That's all, nothing more. No fanfare, no metaphor, no brilliant final words. The culmination of the most influential work of dramatic literature is "He dies." It takes Shakespeare, a genius, to come up with "He dies." And yet every time I read those two words, I find myself overwhelmed with dysphoria. And I know it's only natural to be sad, but not because of the words "He dies." but because of the life we saw prior to the words.
[pause, walks over to Molly]
Mr. Edward Magorium: I've lived all five of my acts, Mahoney, and I am not asking you to be happy that I must go. I'm only asking that you turn the page, continue reading... and let the next story begin. And if anyone asks what became of me, you relate my life in all its wonder, and end it with a simple and modest "He died."
Molly Mahoney: [starting to sob] I love you.
Mr. Edward Magorium: I love you, too.
[picks Molly up, sighs heavily]
Mr. Edward Magorium: Your life is an occasion. Rise to it.

Day 4 Blogging Challenge

A Favorite Television Program

When I was little my absolute favorite show in THE WORLD used to be Eureeka's Castle. Actually, it's still funny. Not every second don't get me wrong but when the bat (Batley) flys into a wall... it's funny.

Now that I'm no long 4 years old my favorite show would have to be either Modern Family, The Middle, The Office and Glee! I LOVE Glee! But, I'm going to highlight my OTHER favorite show. I only watch tv online since AFN (Armed Forces Network) is so sporadic in their programming.

19 Kids and Counting

Okay now say what you will about this family but I absolutely adore them. Have you ever seen little kids who behave so well? Granted they have a tv camera in front of them but little kids are going to be bad if they want to. Michelle seriously needs to teach a parenting class. Love, love, LOVE them!

Day 3 Blogging Challenge

A Favorite Book

I was going to say The Official Preppy Handbook but since that's everyone's favorite book already, I'll pick something else ;)

James Patterson's Sundays At Tiffanys.
I first got this book last summer when I was on vacation in Maine with my family as a beach read. I wasn't even actually planning on reading I just thought a book would look good in my beach bag LOL. Well I read it. I started reading when we got there and finished it by the time we walked home from the beach the same day.

Day 2 Blogging Challenge

A Favorite Movie
My absolute favorite movie growing up was Little Monsters with Howie Mandel and Fred Savage. It also single-handedly made me deathly paranoid and afraid of the dark, the basement, my bedroom at night and anything involving under my bed. In fact I used to take a running leap from my doorway to me bedroom. Those years of ballet really helped out! Actually I'm not ganna lie, when TS is gone on Army duty I still run from the doorway and leap onto our bed sometimes. Ah Howie, he still makes me want to jump on my bed saying ''Got it! Got it! Need it! Got it!''

Day 1 Blog Challenge... for my Mom

A Favorite Song
Another Day In Paradise by Phil Collins
When my Mom and I used to drive home from my grandparent's house late at night, every single time we would hit the top of their street this song would come on. It would be just my Mom and I with Phil Collins singing me to sleep in her 1988 silver Buick Skyhawk. Especially in the summer time, it was so peaceful and everything was perfect at that moment in time. I was still too small to be in the passenger seat and as soon as we hit the top of that street, Franklin Ave in Hartford to be exact, the song would come on and she would look in the rear view mirror and I would be already singing with the first few notes. I was her brown-eyed curly blonde haired little baby singing to Phil Collins at the age of 4. Well now I'm her brown-eyed curly blonde haired little baby singing to Phil Collins at the age of 21. I love you Mama :)

I need to vent...

One of my older sisters got married yesterday, and apparently nobody wanted to answer their phone so I missed it on Skype :( A little annoyed to say the least. Plane tickets are wayy too expensive right now on an Army budget to have come home. They had it in Vermont in a big hotel I think. Sigh. I'm more than a little homesick. I love it here I'm just lonely. And TS is gone out in the field. The thing that annoys me the most is the field is about 8 mins up the road but I can't walk there and he can't come home. It could be worse, he could be in Afganistan right now. Which I'm dreading this fall because that is where he will be. Germany needs closer beaches. And beaches that get hot like at Hampton in NH and Misquamicut in RI. I would give anything to have TS and I with a big cooler laying out in the sun at either of those beaches. Has anyone ever been there? I know I have a few New England girls out there!
Without further adieu... I bring to you... a survey... from Preppy Perfection's adorable blog!

A - Age: 21

B - Bed size: Queen although I wish we got a King. TS and I are sleep-kickers LOL

C - Chore you hate: I actually really enjoy cleaning, I tell TS all the time how gosh darn lucky he is to have a hot blonde wife who loves to cook and clean haha

D - Dog's name: We're keeping it a secret until we get her!

E - Essential start your day item: Usually whatever I make for TS so eggs, bacon, toast... the usual

F - Favorite color: Navy, pink, kelly green, yellow, heather grey

G - Gold or Silver or Platinum: I'm getting into gold, I must be getter older, my Mama says it's the first sign! Lol

H - Height: 5'3.5''... I was 5'5'' when I was 12... go figure.

I - Instruments you play: I played the claranet in elementary... did not like it.

J - Juice: Pineapple! My sister got me into it!

K - Kid(s): None. Every other person here asks... How many children do you have? Where are your kids? Do you need a babysitter? Are you pregnant? When are you going to start trying?... Seriously my ovaries are packing and leaving Germany. It's so much pressure! And if I can't have them I'll feel like a failure. I need this big sign above my head that says... NO KIDS. DONT ASK.

L - Living arrangements: Army Housing! Which is FANTASTIC! Maybe it's because I'm an eternal optimist but I LOVEEE IT!

M - Mom's name: Patricia Marie :)

Then I've had my gall bladder out (weird I know I was 17 and about 120 lbs), a few other surgeries and hospital stays for asthma and chest pain. God bless Tricare.

P - Pet Peeve: No manners! Ugh.

Q - Quote: Where ever you are know that there is always someone thinking about how you're dealing with life.

R - Right handed or left handed: Right

S - Siblings: Many lol

Sailing and Golf

Someone convince TS that I NEED to be on a sailboat pronto and must start to play golf. I'm desperate for the ocean! He thinks my possible ADHD will hinder my ability to play golf. He clearly doesn't realize he challenged me.
